Most of the country has just surfaced from a lazy 4 days off camping and sleeping in and what not. It's our last public holiday until June's Queen's Birthday holiday (No ANZAC day holiday, what a crock) so most people cherished their state sanctioned days off thoroughly, as did I
My days off were spent sleeping, sewing, watching a whole lot of free Netflix and enjoying a friends birthday at the pub.
I also finally finished sewing a purple paisley frock that I had started some time ago but never had the interest to finish quickly, largely because summer dragged on quite a bit making this dress unnecessary, but the cool weather is here now which this heavy twill dress will be perfect for.
I'll of course post proper photos eventually for you all!
Yesterday I cut a whole pile of projects out, ready for sewing up eventually.
The below includes a purple paisley night shirt from McCall's 6655 which comes with a monogram transfer so that you can embroider your initials, a mustard smock traced from another favourite dress, two floral tank tops from Butterick 2624, a plaid long line coat from Style 2563, a red Indian cotton dress from Simplicity 5063 and a blue Indian cotton dress from McCall's 5921.
I do like this method of cutting a whole bunch of projects out at once. It takes all day but I get through way more sewing this way
I also recently bought a really fun bit of fabric that I got from Majoriedestash on Instagram
4 (very narrow) meters of this really fun pink paisley is all mine! I wish I had way more of it. How happy does this make you feel looking at it? It makes me so very happy I played around with it for a few minutes draping it like a sari or pretending it was a magnificent gown for a 60s glamazon, but I really have no idea what to make from it for myself A dress? A skirt?
It's quite sheer but that can be fixed with underlining so there isn't much of a limit as to what one could make!
Or this if I find one in my size??
|It's still yours Vix if you want it!|
Or this lovely number??
I'm yet to choose but hopefully inspiration will hit me via Pinterest picture or something on Tumblr - thats usually where the best ideas come from for me!
What would you make with such a beautiful piece of fabric?
