Well I've taken my sweet time since the last Me Made May post, so here is pretty much what's left of the month!
There were more than a few days where I didn't wear me made mainly because I just wanted to get going in the morning and not have to worry about making my dodgier things look normal.
I also noticed I didn't have enough separates. I have plenty of skirts, but no where near enough tops. I think I have 2 me made tops that I actually want to wear. Hopefully I can rectify that soon as I've recently bought patterns and fabric just for that purpose.
Also we had some crazy weather this month. Sometimes it was really cold and then, like last week it was Springtime warm! So dressing to match the weather became an art form
So lets have a look then!
Week 3 Tuesday - I wore my Paisley shift again, this time with tights
On Wednesday I wore my lovely Barbara with boots
By Thursday I was getting sick of the dark colours and chose this tube skirt which I made from the same Spoonflower fabric as my shift dress. With a white jumper and pink shoes!
For week 4 I went for a very green ensemble - Me made black mini, op-shopped cardi and a paisley dress worn as a top
For Tuesday I had a kind of cleaner look - Me made tube skirt and op-shopped shirt
Wednesday I was home sick so there was no Me Made, but Thursday I was back at it again, with a me made circle skirt, store bought top and op-shopped belt
For Friday I was able to dress casual - I wore this floral shift dress with matching navy tights
That Saturday was Fabric-a-brac. I wore my Sally dress for the day, but I didn't want to expose the dress before posting it, so this was the only photo I took
Week 5 - is it really week 5? The month started off at the end of the week...
Anyway. Spurred on I think from seeing so many retro things over the weekend, for Monday I wore a brown ponte shift dress with orange tights! So very much your nannas lounge room in the 70's. I used this pattern for the dress
Tuesday I was feeling a little more creative - I wore my tweed pinny with a black long sleeved top. I wanted to wear a turtle-neck but I don't own any! Oh my!
I instead tied a nice little scarf around my neck to give that area some decoration
Wednesday I think was my best effort! I wore 3 me mades!! The blue mini, the copper jacket and the blouse were all me made! The triangle cardi is from Gorman
And so that was it for Me Made May! - How did you go with your pledge? I definitely didn't meet mine which was to wear my own makes every work day, but I didn't really get to do that - oh well!
And even though I had quite a few items to wear I kept gravitating back to the same skirts and dresses, which is fine, but its also helped me come to terms with the fact that I just don't want to wear my very old makes which are still in my wardrobe. They aren't really my style any more!
Well I was fun - and I will definitely do it next year again!
Thanks for following along!
